Provocative messages must not be forwarded: Mahyudin

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANJARMASIN -- Deputy Chairman of People's Consultative Assembly Mahyudin said Indonesia implemented democratic system. It united the people with different religion and ethnicity. 

"Indonesia is not a religious nor secular country, but every Indonesian nationals must have God, must have only one religion,” said Mahyudin in Banjarmasin on Friday (May 19). 

Mahyudin said other countries might implement secular or religious system. He reminded that Indonesia was not a theocratic state nor secular country. However, by the religions, Indonesian people should respect and live in harmony among each other. 

He added that Indonesian nationals should keep unite. “Indonesia is a big country. If we only thing about the bad sides, it is dangerous. We should think about the good sides to keep national unity,” said Mahyudin. 

On the same occasion, he also called all element of society to stop provoking, bring conflict, and hurt each other in social media. He reminded the people not to forward any provocative broadcast messages. 

“Only copy-paste the educational broadcast messages, for example how to keep our health. It is beneficial,” said him.
