KPK officially arrest South Buton regent

South Buton regent allegedly receives bribes in projects of 2018 year budget.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) officially arrested two bribery case suspects in South Buton Regency projects 2018 year budget. South Buton Regent Agus Feisal Hidayat has been determined as suspect along  with Tonny Kongres, a contractor at PT Barokah Batauga Mandiri.

South Bupati Regent will be detained for the next 20 days at KPK branch detention centre Red building and for Tonny at Guntur detention center, said KPK spokesperson Febri Diansyah on Thursday (May 24).

Agus left KPK building after being examined on Friday (May 25) morning. He refused to give any comment related to his graft case.

He allegedly received Rp 409 million from contractor related a number of projects in South Buton Regency. Meanwhile, Tonny allegedly acted as coordinator and collector of funds that was given to Agus.

KPK seized a number of evidences related to the case, among others Rp 409 million in denomination of one hundred thousand rupiahs, BRI savings books on behalf Aswardy (BRI employee) and Anastasya (Tonny's daughter).

Furthermore, there were evidences in form electronic, project notes at South Buton Government, and a set of campaign tools one of South Sulawesi deputy governor candidates. Agus is son of former Buton regent Safei Kahar, who currently is running as Southeast Sulawesi deputy governor candidate.
