PT Angkasa Pura I plans to revitalize Terminal I of Soekarno-Hatta Airport

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- State-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II (AP II) has planned to revitalize Terminal I at Soekarno Hatta Airport this year. This revitalization will be done in order to provide convenient services to the passengers.

Although Soekarno Hatta Airport will be revitalized, Director of Angkasa Pura II (AP II) Djoko Muriatmodjo ensured the airline operations will still run.

"So at the terminal I, we are preparing tender process the terminal.

We use the term revitalized because the building will not be demolished," he said at the Vice Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday (3/8).

Djoko explained the expansion plans in Terminal 1 will be done by maintaining the exterior architectural.

"So it will be like the terminal A now but the volume is expanded so that everyone could relate between A1-A7 so the capacity to be increased," Djoko said.

Furthermore, AP II also will revitalize at Terminal 2 in 2017. With the revitalization of Terminals 1 and 2 is expected to accommodate passengers up to 18 million compared to nine million passengers previously.

Commissioner of Angkasa Pura II (Persero), Rhenald Kasali hope of revitalization in Terminal 1 can provide comfort for the passengers.

According to him, the expansion of Soekarno-Hatta airport needs to be done to reduce passengers at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport which is increase.
