REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SORONG -- Ministry of Education and Culture asked the Jakarta International School (JIS) to decommission the headmaster, Tom Carr. He failed to monitor students, which caused child molestation case at the school.

"The headmaster, teachers and deputy headmaster must be decommissioned because they neglected their duties," Director General of Early Childhood Education (PAUD), Non-formal and Informal of the Ministry Lydia Freyani Hawadi said recently in Sorong, West Papua as reported by Agung Sasongko.

Hawadi added that the expat teachers should be fluent in Indonesian language, while majority of JIS teachers, including the headmaster could not speak Indonesian. The ministry and JIS headmaster has held a meeting and she asked the foundation to fire Carr from his position.

"If Tim Carr is still involved in the foundation, of course, it's impossible he resign from his position," Hawadi added.

Government also asked JIS to recover the school condition first. Hawadi is pessimistic that the school can be back in operation in the academic year of 2014/2015. A sexual abuse case was committed by school's janitor against a student, AK. There are also several other victims at school.
