REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Four activists of Medical Emergency Rescue Committee (MER-C) flew to Gaza, Palestine on Friday. The four activists, Wanto, Sariyo, Sumadi, and Mulyadi, proved their professional commitment to build the second stage of Indonesian Hospital (RSI) in Gaza Strip.

The second stage includes architecture and mechanical electric of the hospital. "The building of RSI will be continued. The four MER-C activists go to Gaza to fulfill their commitment," the Chairman of MER-C, dr Joserizal Jurnalis, said.

The Head Division of Construction, Faried Thalib, said that the second stage would involve more activists from Indonesia. Rooted from Pesantren Al Fatah, the four activists signed up on the RSI mission in 2009. It is the first foreign mission for them.

"I was involved as an activist in the post disaster of Yogyakarta earthquake," Wanto as the head of the team said.

The team is planned to arrive in Cairo, Egypt, on Saturday. Then they will go straight to Rafah Border. Bringing the permit from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, they hope they can enter Gaza on Saturday. Until the middle of July 2012, RSI has gathered the donation in around 22.8 billion IDR while they need 30 billion IDR for the building.
