REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The central government's spending is projected to reach Rp1,634.3 trillion next year, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said. It consists of Rp855.4 trillion for ministries/institutions and Rp778.9 trillion for non-ministerial government agencies, she noted.

"Next year, we will spend Rp2,461.1 trillion, comprising Rp1,634.3 trillion for the central government and Rp855.45 trillion for regional governments," she stated, while presenting the budget execution lists (DIPA) 2019 at the State Palace here, on Tuesday.

The spending will be directed towards supporting the execution of various priority development programs and the implementation of the government's tasks, she remarked. The budget allocations are based on Law No. 12 of 2018 on the 2019 state budget.

The minister added that the realization of the state budget 2018 until November remained sound.

"The deficit was recorded at 1.95 percent of the national gross domestic product (GDP) compared to 2.59 percent in November 2017. This is the lowest since the budget year 2014," she explained.

She noted that the sound state budget 2018 has laid a positive basis for the realization of the state budget 2019.

Based on macro assumptions in the state budget 2019, economic growth is projected at 5.3 percent, interest rate at 5.3 percent, rupiah's exchange rate against the dollar at Rp15 thousand per dollar, and oil price at US$70 per barrel.

The state budget 2019 will focus on improving the capacity of human resources, strengthening infrastructures, increasing the effectiveness of social protection programs and the implementation of democracy agenda, creating more efficient and effective bureaucracy, and mitigating natural disasters.
