REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesian Defense Forces Commander General Moeldoko said that the Indonesian Military was ready to provide full security during the president and vice president's inauguration ceremony on October 20, 2014.

"Everything is flexible and in accordance with their (President and Vice President-elect Joko "Jokowi" Widodo and Jusuf Kalla "JK") requests," said General Moeldoko at the Indonesian Military Headquarters in East Jakarta on Tuesday.

Moeldoko noted that the most important task for the Indonesian Military now was to ensure the safety of Jokowi and JK. Hence, he had asked his soldiers, deployed as presidential guard forces, to be flexible and go along with Jokowi's and JK's activities.

Flexibility is important as Jokowi and JK are known for their "blusukan" (impromptu visits), whether to a project site, public facility or slum area.

However, General Moeldoko did not mention the details of the strategy and the personnel numbers needed to secure the Jokowi-JK duo.

Also, Moeldoko has not decided yet the alert status on the inauguration day as it depends on the situation and conditions.
"If the Indonesian Military sets the alert status later, the public need not worry as we will fully secure the inauguration day," he emphasized.

The General Elections Commission on July 22 had announced that the Jokowi-JK duo had received 53.15 percent of the votes, while the Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa pair garnered 46.85 percent of the votes.

However, their rivals Prabowo and Hatta had rejected the result, alleging massive fraud during the elections, and announced their withdrawal from the election process.

On July 25, Prabowo and Hatta filed a lawsuit in the Constitutional Court, challenging the presidential election result, but the court rejected their plea on August 21.
