REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Coordinating Maritime Affairs Minister Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said there was terms and conditions for all developers who involved in Jakarta's bay reclamation project. According to him, they are obligated to pay compensation at least 15 percents of the project.

The agreement on rate of compensation was reached during Basuki Tjahja Purnama (Ahok) governorship. Luhut said the agreement still can be realized, as for example is to build fishermen village.

Luhut said the amount of 15 percent of compensation from reclamation was around Rp 77.8 trillion. That funds would be included in the treasury of DKI Jakarta provincial government, which Luhut assessed could be used to build and improve the standard of living many citizens in capital city.

"This is a really huge fund. We can build Giant Sea Wall (GSW) or develop a fishing village and also improve the fishing port," Luhut said on Tuesday (October 17).

He said there was no problem related to 17 reclamation islets. Therefore, he said, he had to revoke the decree signed in 2016 by his predacessor, Rizal Ramli.

Luhut asserted his decision already agreed by all the relevant stakeholders. Sanction which imposed by Environment and Forestry Ministry (KLHK) related to Enviromental Impact Analysis (Amdal) also been resoleved by the developers.

"Minister of Environment and Forestry has revoked the sanctions that had been imposed to all developers, and the developers then has agreed to fulfill the condition of the government's proposal to continue the reclamation, so why morotarium is not revoked," Luhut explained.

Previously, Luhut also said the lifting of moratorium based on many studies. Such as experts from Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), National Development Planning Board (Bappenas), and also all relevant ministries.
