Bachtiar Nasir reveals the reason he came to a meeting in UBK

Chairman of the National Movement to Safeguard the Indonesian Council of Ulama's Fatwa (GNPF MUI), Bachtiar Nasir, was summoned as witness of coup plot with Rachmawati Soekarnoputri as suspect. At the same day, Munarman and Habib Rizieq also being questioned at the Jakarta Metro Police on Wednesday.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- After being examined as a witness on the alleged treason case conducted by Rachmawati Soekarnoputri, the Chairman of the National Movement to Safeguard the Indonesian Council of Ulama's Fatwa (GNPF MUI), Bachtiar Nasir, revealed the reason of his presence at the meeting in Bung Karno University (UBK), Central Jakarta. He said he only delivered a speech there. 

"It was also asked by the investigators about my speech in UBK. It was related to the anniversary of Bung Karno. And it was academic,"  said ustaz Bachtiar in front of the building of Special Crime Directorate of Jakarta Metro Police on Wednesday.

He insisted for not having any connection with the treason case. But, he appreciated for the police invitation as its right to get complete information. "If we involved, we should have been caught to the Mobile Brigade Headquarters from the beginning. Therefore we were summoned here. This is an initiative from the police get a clarification," said him.
